A quick-reference guide for every common RTO transaction — so you never show up with missing papers.
1. Learner's Licence (LL)

2. Permanent Driving Licence (DL)

7. RC (Registration Certificate) Transfer
When buying/selling a used vehicle:
Seller's side:
- Original RC
- Form 28 (NOC from financier if loan on vehicle)
- Form 29 (notice of transfer, signed by seller)
- Insurance certificate
- PUC certificate
- Address proof
Buyer's side:
- Form 30 (application for transfer)
- Address proof
- Identity proof
- Photos
- Fee: ₹300–500 + road tax if state changes
Timeline: Transfer must be completed within 14 days of purchase as per MV Act.
8. International Driving Permit (IDP)

IDP is valid for 1 year and must be carried with your Indian DL when driving abroad.
Universal Documents (Always Carry When Driving)

3. Third-party Insurance certificate
4. PUC (Pollution Under Control) certificate
