How to Prepare Your Car for a Long Road Trip in India

A smooth trip starts before you leave.

24-hour checklist

  • Tyre pressure (including spare)
  • Brake response and handbrake
  • Engine oil, coolant, washer fluid
  • Headlights, brake lights, indicators
  • FASTag balance and fuel plan

Carry these always

  • RC, insurance, PUC, DL (physical or DigiLocker)
  • Tyre inflator, puncture kit, jumper cable
  • Torch, power bank, first-aid kit, drinking water

Driving rhythm

Take breaks every 2-3 hours. Fatigue causes late braking and poor lane judgment.

Before your first highway trip, do 2-3 supervised practice sessions with a trainer. Book here.
