How to Prepare Your Car for a Long Road Trip in India
A smooth trip starts before you leave.
24-hour checklist
- Tyre pressure (including spare)
- Brake response and handbrake
- Engine oil, coolant, washer fluid
- Headlights, brake lights, indicators
- FASTag balance and fuel plan
Carry these always
- RC, insurance, PUC, DL (physical or DigiLocker)
- Tyre inflator, puncture kit, jumper cable
- Torch, power bank, first-aid kit, drinking water
Driving rhythm
Take breaks every 2-3 hours. Fatigue causes late braking and poor lane judgment.
Before your first highway trip, do 2-3 supervised practice sessions with a trainer. Book here.
