How to Drive Safely in Heavy Rain in India

Rain reduces tyre grip and visibility at the same time.

What to do

  • Turn on headlights (not high beam)
  • Increase following distance to 4-5 seconds
  • Brake early and progressively
  • Avoid hard steering on waterlogged patches

If car starts hydroplaning

1. Ease off accelerator.

2. Keep steering straight.

3. Do not slam brakes.

Flooded roads

If water is above wheel-center height, avoid entry. Stalled engine + hidden potholes = high risk.

Practice wet-road control in a safe area with supervision before monsoon starts. Book training.
